Implementation Lab

Level Leaders at all levels
Duration from 8 to 24 hours

Each Implementation Lab is structured in two distinct but connected phases to maximize the impact of action learning. The first phase focuses on building shared understanding and alignment. During this phase, participants engage with proven frameworks, best practices, and strategic models specific to the lab’s focus area. This ensures leaders are working from a common language and evidence-based perspective, grounding their thinking in what is known to drive performance and effectiveness. The second phase shifts decisively from learning to doing. The emphasis moves to implementation—turning insights into concrete actions that produce measurable results. Participants engage in individualized, 1-on-1 strategic implementation sessions that are tailored to their unique context. Rather than discussing leadership in abstract terms, these sessions focus on each participant’s real operational challenges, decisions, and constraints within the focus area of the lab.

Course Overview

Business Need

One of the most difficult—and most critical—challenges of leadership is not acquiring knowledge, but translating that knowledge into consistent, effective action. Leaders often leave workshops or strategy sessions inspired, yet struggle to apply new ideas amid real-world complexity, competing priorities, and organizational constraints. Implementation Labs are intentionally designed to close this gap by tightly integrating learning with execution.

Strategic Leadership Alignment

Transitioning from technical competence to organizational leadership is one of the most challenging workplace shifts, requiring a skill set beyond subject matter expertise. This immersive lab is designed to bridge the gap between technical execution and the interpersonal demands of modern supervision. Participants establish a common leadership framework and develop a vision for success. Assessments can be used to help participants understand their approach to strategic leadership.

  • Establish Foundational Alignment by defining the roles, characteristics, and best practices of effective leadership within the organization.
  • Optimize Performance Management by applying models to write effective performance standards and learn the “nuts and bolts” of conducting employee appraisals.
  • Enhance Communication and Dialogue by utilizing dialogue models and active listening techniques to encourage employee participation and engagement.
  • Navigate Conflict and Resistance by identifying sources of conflict and applying resolution techniques to maintain a healthy workplace environment.
  • Drive Empowerment through Delegation by learning to use a proven delegation model to boost staff motivation and optimize resources.
